Title
Error probabilities of differential frequency hopping receiver with noise-normalization combining sequence detection under partial-band jamming
Abstract
Noise-normalization combining receiver for differential frequency hopping (DFH) spread spectrum communication system is proposed in this paper to improve the partial-band jamming rejection performance of DFH system. The symbol error rate (SER) of the proposed receiver employing sequence detection is analyzed with PBNJ and background additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) considered. Numerical and Monte Carlo simulation are performed on noise-normalization combining DFH (nnDFH) receiver and conventional DFH (cvDFH) receiver. Performance comparisons between nnDFH and cvDFH receiver are presented. It is shown that nnDFH receiver is superior to cvDFH receiver especially when suffering narrow band jamming which can degrade the SER performance of cvDFH receiver severely. ©2010 IEEE.
