Title
A novel transmit beamforming scheme for BER improvement in EIRP constrained UWB systems
Abstract
Signal design at the transmitter of Ultra-wideband (UWB) communications system is restricted by their equivalent isotropic radiated power (EIRP) criterion rather than the total transmitted power constraints. This paper investigates three schemes based on antenna selection, scaled eigen-beamforming, and the soft-clipping-based method, respectively. By analyzing signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) of three schemes mentioned above, this paper proposes a novel combination of the three methods to further improve the BER performance while obeying EIRP criterion. Finally, simulation results are presented to verify the proposed scheme.
