Regular circle actions on 2-connected 7-manifolds.
Abstract
A circle action S-1 x M -> M on a manifold M is called regular if this action is free and the orbit space is a manifold. In this paper, we determine the homeomorphism (respectively, diffeomorphism) types of those 2-connected 7-manifolds (respectively, smooth 2-connected 7-manifolds) that admit regular circle actions (respectively, smooth regular circle actions).
