Title
An exploration research of the independent college operation efficiency indicators based on dea
Abstract
The independent college is an emerging strength of higher education, which first appeared at the end of the last century. A total of 298 independent colleges have been approved by the state up until 2012. There are three kinds of independent college school systems. The independent colleges help relieving the problem of too many college students. Because of the particularity of the independent colleges, it is difficult to have a specific method to compare their operation performance with that of other institutions of higher education. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric evaluation method that is suitable for processing multi-input, multi-output complex systems evaluation problems and analyzing management information. In the paper, data envelopment analysis is used to analyze the independent colleges' operation efficiencies by selecting three well-developed independent colleges as the decision-making unit (DMU). This paper has done some exploration research on the operation efficiency indicators.
