Title
A Fast Scheduling Algorithm for Detection and Localization of Hidden Objects Based on Data Gathering in Wireless Sensor Networks.
Abstract
The need for the search and localization of hidden or lost objects arises in many military and civil applications. Suppose a set of underground tunnels is hidden in an area of interest. In order to efficiently detect and neutralize the targets a network of wireless sensors is used which provide acoustic, seismic, electromagnetic, gravimetric and other information about the targets. The information is automatically put together in order to determine position of the targets. The problem considered in this paper is to find optimal routes for mobile agents gathering the information. The problem is formulated as the constrained assignment problem and a fast scheduling algorithm for its solution is developed.
