The concern with the location estimation techniques has been growing. One of them is a Dead-Reckoning (DR) technique which tracks the position by estimating relative movement. It is possible to estimate the relative movement which consists of the distance and direction. We can measure them by several sensors. However, the attitude of the smart phone held by the pedestrian varies with holding and moving states. In this paper, we propose a new traveling direction estimation method using a smart phone with sensor devices for the DR. We show some results of field experiments using our direction estimator. |
