Title
Location-based centralized dynamic channel assignment with channel segregation for multi-beam mobile satellite networks
Abstract
Dynamic channel assignment is a promising solution for flexible and efficient spectrum utilization in a satellite/terrestrial integrated mobile communication system (STICS), that uses multi-beam satellite and share the frequency spectrum allocated to mobile satellite services with terrestrial mobile services. This paper proposes a location based centralized dynamic channel assignment with channel segregation for multi-beam satellite networks, where location information of mobile terminal is used to reduce the channel setup time and channel segregation based on priority channels is introduced to reduce inter-satellite cell interference and improve link quality when a frequency reuse factor is one. Performance evaluation results by computer simulations confirm that the proposed scheme is effective to improve spectrum efficiency and link quality.
