Title
The use of integral adaptation principle to increase the reliability of synchronous generator nonlinear excitation system
Abstract
Nowadays the consumption of electrical energy is increased together with more complexity of power system structure and interconnection of its components. According to these facts, to control the power system synchronous generators (SG) with regard to their non-linearity, multi-dimensionality and multi-linkage properties we need to use a fundamentally new approach, namely system-cybernetic one. The paper presents a synergistic synthesis procedure of nonlinear adaptive control law for power system SG excitation in accordance with the principle of integral adaptation of synergetic control theory. The synthesized control law provides implementation of technological invariants, i.e. stabilization of terminal voltage and synchronous operation with network, suppression of parametric perturbation (parametric robustness). Comparative analysis of stability area of the synergistic law with conventional SG excitation control illustrates the significant advantage of the synergetic approach in increasing the power system reliability.
