Abstract | ||

A narrowband power line communications (NB-PLC) modem that can provide reliable and cost effective data communication capabilities is an ideal and natural solution to Smart Grids communication needs. In this paper, a NB-PLC modem design using highly efficient digital signal processor (DSP) is proposed. This design adopts a coding modulation scheme consisting the use of permutations code combined with multilevel frequency shift keying modulation (M-FSK). Validation tests are further described making the system robust and significantly efficient for narrowband power line communications. |
