This paper presents a method for assessing network failures by means of a threshold analysis of measurements that can be collected by non-intrusive devices. The method is based on suitable statistical post-processing of data. The proposed solution can be easily implemented by already available monitoring systems for network performance surveillance and automatic detection of anomalies. The effectiveness of this method has been proven on real-life telecommunications measurements, and results are reported. |
