The system we present here processes linguistic informations in two stages. In phase one we identify in a deterministic way pseudo-phonetic and prosodic events tending to characterize in flexible and concrete terms nonsignificant segmental and supra-segmental units (phonemes and prosodic boundaries). Phase two uses higher linguistic knowledge (phonology, prosodics, lexicon, syntax, semantics and pragmatics) to interprete in a non-deterministic way the data that have been partially defined in the previous proceeding. |
