In this paper, we present an Unsharp Masking-basedapproach for edge enhancing for TV application. Theproposed scheme enhances the true details, limits theovershoot near sharp edges and attenuates the temporalartifacts which are visible in an image sequence.Simulations show that the processed sequence presentssharp edges which make it more pleasant to the humaneye. Moreover, the amount of noise and nonhomogeneitiesin the sequence are clearly reduced.1. INTRODUCTIONSince the spatial... |
