Title
Scattering from dielectric random fractal surfaces via method of moments
Abstract
This paper presents the rationale for the use of method of moments (MoM) for evaluation of electromagnetic field scattered by dielectric random fractal surfaces. Derivation of the algorithm is given along with a reliable fractal profile generation procedure. Numerical results are compared and validated against those obtained under the hypotheses of the small perturbation scattering theory, available together with the applicability limits in the current literature. Choice of key parameters pertinent to MoM is also discussed. Numerical results are finally used to investigate the behavior of the electromagnetic scattering from fractal surfaces
