Title
Spatial Sharing Algorithm in mmWave WPANs with Interference Sense Beamforming Mechanism
Abstract
In this paper, we address the spatial sharing problem in millimeter-wave (mmWave) wireless personal access networks (WPANs). In order to establish conflict graph and study interference relationship among devices, we incorporate the interference measurement with the traditional beamforming (BF) training and propose an interference sense beamforming (ISBF) mechanism. Based on physical interference model, we derive the spatial sharing (SPSH) conditions for concurrent transmissions and develop a new algorithm, namely, maximum coexistence possibility (MCP), to improve the SPSH gain. Performance evaluations show that the MCP algorithm dramatically improves the SPSH gain, and that the new algorithm outperforms the existing blind selection algorithm by 15%-31%.
