Title
Timing Matters: Tackling Intractable Problems
Abstract
The fact that we got a man on the moon by focusing on an intractable problem, bringing human ingenuity to bear, displays the art of "what is possible." Thereafter, we freewheeled into a treasure trove of new knowledge and insight. The grand challenge is whether we can harness our energies to re solve those intractable problems that realistically threaten human kind. Einstein noted that we can't solve the problems we face using the same kind of thinking used to create them. Again, Michener gently reminds: "There are no insoluble problems, only time consuming ones." And the clock is ticking.
