Title
A frequency-output temperature sensor with supply voltage insensitivity for battery operated systems
Abstract
This paper presents a new low-voltage low-power CMOS temperature sensor, targeting long-life autonomous portable applications. The frequency-output sensor includes a novel VDD-compensation strategy, achieving supply voltage independence. Results for a 0.18 μm CMOS implementation show a linear response over a wide range of (−40, +120 ºC), with a sensitivity of 546 Hz/ºC and a power consumption of 2 μW at 1 V single supply.
