Title
A 10Gb/s inductorless push pull current mirror transimpedance amplifier
Abstract
A 10Gb/s optical receiver implemented in 40nm CMOS is presented in this work. The proposed TIA's input stage is based on a push pull current mirror amplifier. The TIA is followed by a three stage voltage amplifier and a 50Ω buffer. The complete optical receiver has a transimpedance gain of 57.5 dBW and a -3dB bandwidth of 6.6 GHz with 0.5pF total input capacitance for the photodiode, ESD protection circuitry and input pads. The complete optical receiver occupies a chip area of 0.0036 mm2 and consumes 16.4 mA from a 1.1V supply voltage.
