Dimensioning of elastic optical packet switched metro rings
Abstract
We propose a dimensioning algorithm for all-optical packet rings equipped with elastic or fixed mixed line rate (fMLR) transponders (TRX) and show that elastic TRX can reduce network cost by up to 40% with respect to fMLR networks.
