A model-based fault detection algorithm assuming uncertain process parameters is used for detecting poorly operating A-tuned control loops. The a priori information obtained from A-tuning is used to create an observer as residual generator. The observer has integral action which makes it possible to obtain a tight fault detection threshold. A linear optimization approach is used for finding the parameters in the threshold. |
