Title
Service and Personal Mobility in Next Generation Networks
Abstract
Next Generation Networks (NGN) is a concept for defining and deploying networks, which, due to their formal separation into different layers and planes, and use of open interfaces, offers service providers and operators a platform that can evolve to create, deploy and manage innovative services. In our paper, we present a generic definition of mobility in NGN. Then, we address our vision of NGN service architecture to support personal and service mobility. Next, we motivate a session initiation protocol (SIP) signaling protocol usage for service and user mobility. Finally, we discuss concept of Virtual Home Environment (VHE) and its element: the user Personal Service Environment (PSE), as a basis for users' access to personalized services from any network and with any terminal used.
