In this paper, an algorithm for estimating and suppressing intercell interference in a hybrid C/TDMA system is presented. A scheme consisting in two coupled algorithms running in parallel has been chosen, with a joint detection block to detect data from the users of interest and a probabilistic algorithm relying on the theory of Hidden Markov Models to perform blind interference cancellation. Observation through an array of sensors is also considered In order to assess performance of the proposed algorithm, a set of computer simulations adopting FRAMES proposal for UMTS air-interface is provided. |
