Title
Generation Of Geometrically And Radiometrically Terrain Corrected Scansar Images
Abstract
Inclined surface topography diminishes the geometric and radiometric quality of synthetic aperture radar imagery. The correction of these effects becomes indispensable when quantitative image analysis is performed with respect to the derivation of geo- and biophysical parameters. Due to their spatial extent and frequent availability, ScanSAR image products extend the operative range of microwave imagery and have a high potential for numerous operational applications over larger areas. The study presents a procedure for a pre-operational terrain correction of ScanSAR imagery as acquired by RADARSAT and ENVISAT ASAR.
