Abstract | ||

In this paper, a smoothed inter-layer residual prediction method is proposed for SHVC. The proposed method can reduce the prediction error presented in the enhancement layer by adding the residual signal of the reference layer to the motion-compensated prediction signal in the enhancement layer. The experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve BD-rate savings by refining the residual signal of the enhancement layer. |
