Title
New Imaging and Display System for Wide Gamut Color Reproduction
Abstract
An imaging system consisting of an XYZ still camera and a liquid crystal display (LCD) with the adaptive matrix color conversion (AMCC) method implemented is proposed. The XYZ still camera is equipped with three optical filters that are designed to be equal to the color matching functions. The imaging system was evaluated with respect to color reproduction capability. The average color difference using the CIEDE2000 between the tristimulus values picked up by the camera and those measured by a spectrophotometer was found to be 0.92 for the colors inside the HDTV gamut and 0.72 for those outside the same gamut, respectively. The average color difference as a whole system was found to be 2.21.
