Title
Multimedia Proxy Adaptive Scheduler Driven By Perceptual Quality For Multi-User Environment
Abstract
In this contribution, we present a proxy-server architecture for multimedia wireless, packet-oriented, communications. In particular, we focus the attention on the scheduling management of the proxy: the goal is to dynamically allocate the available bandwidth resource to several users, minimizing the perceptual quality loss. This problem has been addressed by Girod et al. [3-5]; in this proposal we extend their approach by accounting for the quality loss produced by the pauses caused by the refill of the playout buffer.
