•Weighting solutions of the Simos method are vectors of a non-empty convex polyhedron.•The results of Simos jeopardize the stability and acceptance of a decision model’s results.•Robustness rules and activities on multiple acceptable sets of weights are proposed.•Two indicative numerical examples illustrate the paper's evidence.
