Title
Proposal of Design Support System of Pedestrian Space Based on Psychological Assessment.
Abstract
The number of collision accidents on a lane for cyclists and pedestrians has been increasing and became one of the social issues should be solved as soon possible Japan. Although the faults of cyclists and/or pedestrians cause the collision accident, the authors assume that the incidence rate of collision accident on a lane might be reduced depending on the environmental conditions around the lane. When a pedestrian finds a bicycle approaching from the front of the lane, the pedestrian catches a scent of danger and takes avoidance behavior. Then, the pedestrian and the cyclist might feel psychological stresses and it grows as their distance was shorten. The psychological stresses of both pedestrian and cyclist provoke the incidence rate of collision accident. Then, the authors aim to optimize the environmental conditions of a lane for pedestrians and cyclists from the view point of psychological statement of a pedestrian. And this study proposes a virtual simulator which provide the design of pedestrian space. This paper introduces a concept of our proposal and some related works. Through the experimental results, we will discuss about the technical issues of our study to make the simulator more practical.
