Title
Ant Colony-Based Energy Control Routing Protocol For Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
Abstract
The energy of nodes is limited in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). In order to extend the lifetime of networks, how to select the best route is the critical issue for routing protocol in MANETs. In this paper, Ant Colony-based Energy Control Routing (ACECR) Protocol is proposed for MANETs. The goal of the proposed protocol is to find an optimized route by using the positive feedback character of Ant Colony optimization (ACO). In ACECR protocol, the route choice is dependent on not only hops between nodes and the energy of nodes, but also the average energy and the minimum energy of the routes to find the route with more energy. Simulation results show that ACECR protocol has better performance than existing protocols in balanced energy use and network lifetime.
