Title
Traffic-Aware Energy Efficient Routing (Teer) Using Multi-Criteria Decision Making For Wireless Sensor Network
Abstract
Wireless sensor networks ( WSN) is widely used for gathering data, and thus efficient routing is one of the key operations. Since each node of WSN is battery-powered, its lifetime is limited. To support energy-efficient routing for WSN, a novel routing algorithm is presented in this paper which decides the next hop using multiple criteria decision making ( MCDM) technique. Here the hybrid virtual potential field representing communication distance, queue length, and residual energy of each node is employed in the MCDM. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme substantially prolongs the network lifetime and reduces packet loss rate compared with the existing routing algorithms.
