Abstract
•We monitor rivers and reservoirs based on airborne SAR/InSAR data.•We extract digital elevation models (DEMs) from SAR/InSAR products.•We present a novel approach for estimating water levels from DEMs.•We propose a novel contour tracking algorithm to detect river margins.•Our method is accurate and reliable for estimating water levels.
