The article presents a method of evaluating the range of area covered by interference for railway employees equipped with the GSM-R handheld mobile stations (MS). Previous studies covered only the on-board MS e.g. Cab radio and EDOR. EIRENE defines three other types of terminals used by railway workers. They are: GPH, OPH and OPS. Research in this area is yet unknown. The article presents a comparative analysis of these classes of MS and the method allows to evaluate the area affected by interference. A valuable addition is a comparative analysis of the extent of the impact of interference on the real parts of railway lines in Poland for which an implementation of GSM-R system is planned. |
