While audio in itself may appear place-less, audio content is in many cases implicitly or explicitly tied to location. Focusing on primarily music content, this position paper outlines a number of dimensions of the interplay of audio and place, and the ways in which locality can play a role in people's engagement with music. An example of different locality levels is provided using the example of streaming content in the car as a personal space traversing from A to B. |
