Title
Backscattering Elimination In Fog For Advanced Driver Assistance Systems With Led Matrix Headlights
Abstract
Backscattering can be a major problem for drivers and camera-based driver assistance systems when driving in fog. In this paper we describe how LED matrix headlights can be used to cast a pattern into the scene that allows us to separate the scattered light from reflected light with compressed sensing. We use a laboratory setup with a fog machine, projector, and camera to simulate the situation in simplified form. This is a first step towards a glare free driving.
