In this paper, the results from LTE downlink performance evaluations of UE-specific beamforming, aperture-reuse horizontal sectorization, and vertical sectorization are presented for a dual-column 4 TX antenna configuration. System simulations were performed in a dense urban scenario with a deterministic 3D path loss model. The results show that UE-specific beamforming gives the best performance; slightly better than vertical sectorization and significantly better than aperture-reuse horizontal sectorization. |
