Connected health care is a remotely healthcare system and it provides several services including telecare medicine, personally controlled health record, patient monitoring and so on. Recently, Xu et al. have shown that Xie et al.'s remote user authentication scheme for connected health care was vulnerable to the de-synchronization attack, and the server has too much storage burden in the scheme. They proposed an improved scheme which overcomes the usual weaknesses and keeps ordinary security properties. However, we find that Xu et al.'s authentication scheme is still insecure against the user impersonation and off-line password guessing attacks. In this paper, we propose an enhanced user authentication scheme preserving the uniqueness and anonymity for connected health care which is based on the cryptanalysis of Xu et al.'s scheme. Compared with several related schemes, our scheme has more secure properties and lower computation cost. |
