Abstract
•Joint sparse signal reconstruction is used to estimate respiratory rate from the PPG.•Two methods are proposed to fuse the sparse spectra to estimate respiratory rate.•The algorithms have been tested on a public benchmark database CapnoBase.•The algorithms works well with a low sampling frequency of 10Hz.
