An Empirical Study on the Performance of Enterprises and Investment in the Human Capital
Abstract
In the macroeconomic field, the investment in the human capital significantly relates to the output of the national economy. But as to the economic subject of the microcosmic market, what is the relationship between the human capital investment and the enterprise performance? Which contributes more to the performance of enterprises between the human capital and the material capital? This paper aims to study the relationship between the human capital investment and its yields from microcosmic aspects of enterprises. Through the empirical study on listed companies from year 2011 to year 2014, the results show that the performance of enterprises positively correlates to the human capital investment. Meanwhile, the study shows that the increase of the human capital investment is beneficial to increasing the level of human capital of the whole society. The study shows practical significance of researching the human capital investment of enterprises.
