Title
Study on generic functionality for quality of service control in M2M communications
Abstract
Control on Quality of Service (QoS) appears to be one of the main requirements in Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications. The dynamic QoS control is critical for applications like video surveillance, transportation services, and industrial control. In this paper, we study the requirements to generic functionality that allows dynamic configuration of specific QoS parameters on M2M connections and usage monitoring. Based on the standardized Policy and Charging Control architecture, common functions are identified and a model of autonomous application for QoS management is formalized.
