Title
Energy-Aware Volunteer Computing Using Solar Photovoltaics And Older Models Of Single Board Computers
Abstract
Recent years, low-cost computers are sold, and are introduced many also such computers in educational fields. Since a significant improvement in performance of such computers, updating the equipment is performed frequently. In Japan, solar photovoltaic is widely used, and the solar panels are installed to the roof of the ordinary houses. About 20 years later, solar panels will become the industrial waste. In the research stage, they are recycled at a high efficiency. Before the high efficiency of recycling is to progress to the commercial stage, there is a possibility that a large amount of solar panels are discarded. In this work, with considering the Green ICT, we use the instruments that become a waste again, and are suppressing the energy consumption cost. On that basis, we will consider the implementation of energy-aware volunteer computing.
