Integrity-oriented service scheduling for vehicle-to-roadside data access
Abstract
With the rapid development of new applications and services in vehicular environment, there is an increasing demand for mobile users to access data items. Moreover, Road Side Unit (RSU) has been introduced by researchers to facilitate data dissemination in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). Therefore, it is necessary to design a data access scheme for vehicle-to-roadside (V2R) communications. However, on the one hand, with the relatively high cost of deployment, V2R communications can be limited; on the other hand, the limited coverage of RSU and high dynamic topology of vehicular networks lead to that each individual vehicle's sojourn time within one RSU's coverage is short, and vehicles cannot download a large-size file. To address these challenges, in this paper, we propose a novel V2R data access scheme based on integrity and importance of the data. Given the initial information of vehicle's request, we first estimate whether the request can be served to avoid the invalid data access request. And then we provide a priority scheduling scheme of multiple requests with considering both the importance and deadline of the request. Finally we adopt a priority based strategy to serve these requests. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme outperforms other schemes in service ratio.
