Title
A Pilot Interface Evaluation Combined with Three-Dimensional Holography Concept for the Older Adults.
Abstract
Due to the rapid growth in the number of elderly people, more and more attention should be paid to interactive products for the elderly. Furthermore, the number of interactive products is increasing because of the development of different display and touch technology. The physiological and psychological degeneration of the elderly could influence the floating display and touch operational ability. The main purposes of this study is to investigate the aging characteristics of the elderly and to develop new guidelines for three-dimensional holography and floating interface design from the concept of welfare and entertainment design. We recruited 30 older adults users (age over 65 years) for this study. Fifteen were randomly assigned to an active Intervention group and were given 3D hologram device rotation operation, and 15 were assigned to a group that used the 2D HoloAD device model rotation operation. 2 series of rotational objects (sphere and cuboid) also constructed and simulated to confirm the performance and feedback during the usage stage. Finally, the results provide insights for related float display and control interface design and develop forming a welfare design perspective.
