Title
A Dynamic Trust Model Enforcing Security Policies
Abstract
Security policies are placed to control and prevent unauthorized or accidental access to data. Furthermore, building a proper user interface that reflects one's privileges is a cumbersome task. Each modification of a security policy causes many potential and unpredictable side effects which results in rule conflicts or security breaches that affect the corresponding user interfaces as well. On the other hand, nowadays there has been more attention towards trust in user behavior. This work, presents an improved dynamic model that adjusts users' security policies based on the level of trust that they hold. In this model, the trust manager can revoke/reduce the access level of users based on their unnecessary access to data items. The model demonstrates the effect of changes in the level of trust in users to security administrators.
