Title
Detection Of Large Point Sources Of Carbon Dioxide By A Satellite Hyperspectral Camera
Abstract
Carbon dioxide(CO2) and methane are major greenhouse gases which may cause global climate change. It is important to quantify CO2 emissions from large point sources (LPS) such as power plants using fossil fuels. In this study, the capability of HISUI, a Japanese future satellite hyperspectral camera, to detect CO2 emission from LPS by means of numerical simulation. It is shown that CO2 emission from medium-sized power plants can be detected by HISUI.
