Title
Swipe-Like Text Entry by Head Movements and a Single Row Keyboard.
Abstract
Swipe typing on haptic devices is gaining increasing attention among developers and popularity among users. By sliding a finger or stylus through consecutive letters, without any form of selection (e.g. pressing), it offers substantial acceleration and ease of writing. In this paper, an adaptation of swipe typing technique for touchless environment operated by head movements is proposed. The head movements enable directional manipulation and the swipe-like typing procedure solves the problem of the key press. Such interface is generally designed for physically challenged people who are unable to use standard input devices ( mouse and keyboard).
