Interpolation based channel estimation (IBCE) is recently carried out by transmitting known pilot symbols in given positions of the frequency-time grid for spatial modulation and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (SM-OFDM) systems. It is known that the iterative channel estimation techniques provide substantial gain over non-iterative methods when the total number pilots are not sufficient. Therefore, in this paper, the iterative channel estimation is proposed to improve the channel estimation over the iterations by using detected symbols. In the iteration step, spline based interpolation is applied by the usage of both detected symbols and pilot symbols. Simulation results demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed iterative channel estimation for the quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK). |
