•A novel online adaptive learning control scheme is developed for islanded network of microgrids within the framework of for multi-agent power systems based on a game theoretic approach and it is implemented in real-time utilizing critic neural networks.•The microgrid units are exchanging information over a communication network wherein the developed scheme solves the coupled Bellman equations of the graphical game in the presence of disturbances using local neighborhood information and partial knowledge about the unit’s dynamics.•A network of wind turbine considered where the open-loop dynamics is estimated using means of particle filtering. The developed structure showed robustness against the power systems load disturbances. |
