Title
Analysis of land degradation processes on a tiger bush plateau in South West Niger using MODIS and LANDSAT TM/ETM+ data.
Abstract
•Land clearing due to fuelwood harvest is an ongoing process near Niamey in South West Niger.•Tiger bush land cover tends to decrease more markedly on the most external areas of the plateau.•Degradation patterns appear to be linked to the distance from Niamey.•Denudation processes tend to accelerate in the more degraded areas.
