Abstract
•Models are provided for evaluating granularity balance of semantic relationships.•Experiments are conducted in FMA and SNOMED CT.•Over 3000 imbalances detected are redundancies or are caused by them.•Inconsistencies, missing concepts and misalignments are identified.
