•Emissions tax cost, penalty cost; discount and limitation on total emissions are considered.•Dynamic sequencing for sequencing S/R requests is studied.•Adding loading/unloading time and energy consumption by robot, conveyor and S/R machine.•The results showed that GA in terms of total cost, performance cost and GHG cost has better performance over ACO.
