Digital competence1 should be an essential skill in the professional development of educators. The purpose of the research project presented in this paper is a diagnostic self- assessment of digital competence of students taking the Undergraduate Degrees in Education of the University of Salamanca (Spain), and check if the gender variable affects the results. The methodology used is among the so-called ex post facto, quantitative and based on the online questionnaire technique for information gathering. The analyses conducted were descriptive, inferential and correlational, using Studentu0027s t-test to compare means. The results show that, of these future educators, men score higher than women in ICT knowledge and use, while women score higher in attitude. |
